Content proposals: review, adjust and schedule

With the Star plan, each month ōrbita writes up to eight content proposals per company from its communication strategy, and you decide how many of each format: short video, carousel, image post or text only. Each proposal arrives with the why, the audience, the script, the text for each network and a preview. You add the material, adjust whatever you want, schedule the date and ōrbita publishes.

How proposals arrive each month

The monthly proposals written by ōrbita are part of the Star plan. Around the 15th of each month, ōrbita writes next month’s proposals for each company you manage with that plan: up to eight, in the formats and the quantity you have decided for that company. A few days earlier you get a notice that the content is on its way. The proposals rotate the content pillars, messages and calls to action of the strategy so they do not repeat.

The monthly proposals arrive with a date and time already assigned and appear directly in the calendar with the status In progress: they are a publishing plan for the month, not a draft. You review them, change whatever you want (the date included) and schedule them. Proposals you create by hand can indeed be born without a date: they live in the Drafts view of the calendar until you give them a network and a date. You can create them from the calendar (already placed on a day) or from the Drafts view with “New draft”.

If a proposal comes from a real question from your customers (the Brand > Customer questions section of the company), the proposal says so, so you know where it comes from.

How many proposals and of which format: the mix per company

Not all companies use the same networks, and the same type of content does not work for all of them. That is why each company has its own monthly mix: you decide how many proposals of each format ōrbita writes, up to a maximum of eight a month.

The four formats and what ōrbita writes for each:

Format What ōrbita writes for you
Short video The script, the shooting directions and the post text. For Reels, TikTok, Shorts and video on Facebook or LinkedIn.
Carousel The content of each slide, the design recommendations and the post text.
Image post The post text, the recommendations for taking the photo and a prompt ready to generate it with the image tool you use.
Text only A post with no material, meant for the networks that allow it: Facebook, LinkedIn and Google Business Profile. Instagram, TikTok and YouTube require an image or video, so ōrbita does not schedule it there.

Where it is configured. In the company, go to Company settings > Company and scroll down to the Settings section, below the calendar time zone. In Monthly content you raise or lower the number of each format with the plus and minus buttons. It saves on its own, with no save button.

Rules worth knowing:

  • The default mix of each new company is four image posts, two short videos, two carousels and no text-only post. If you do not touch it, it stays that way.
  • The total can be less than eight. If a company needs less content one month, lower the total; if you leave it at zero, that month ōrbita writes no proposals for it and generates nothing you will not use.
  • The mix applies from the next monthly writing. October’s is written around 15 September, so change the mix before that date if you want it to affect next month. Proposals already written do not change.
  • The mix is configured on the Star plan, like the language and the formality.
  • The Editor, Admin and Owner levels can edit it; the Viewer level sees it but cannot change it. The detail of levels is in collaborators.
  • The mix is independent of the connected networks: ōrbita writes what you ask for and, when you schedule, warns you if a format does not fit on some network.
  • The first proposals of a newly created company do not follow the mix: in onboarding ōrbita chooses the mix for you. The mix starts to apply from the first monthly writing.
  • In that same section you choose the language and the formality with which all the company’s content is written, with the regional variants of Spanish and of the other languages: guide to language and formality.

The maximum of eight is today’s. Soon you will be able to ask for more proposals a month per company.

The workspace of a proposal

Each proposal opens in a workspace with steps and a preview beside it:

  1. Strategy. “Why we’re suggesting this” and the target audience: the justification for the piece, useful for explaining it to the client.
  2. Production. The video script or the visual idea, a prompt ready to paste into the image or video tool you use, and the material: upload images or video, crop them with each network’s formats, choose the cover of the Reel or the TikTok and the YouTube thumbnail. If you use Canva, connect your account and use “Import from Canva” or “Create with Canva”. If your material lives in Google Drive, connect your Google account and use “Import from Google Drive”: you choose the files in Google’s picker and they go into the proposal. Both connections are made once, from Company settings > Tools, and are in all plans.
  3. Content. The base text and, if you want, a different version per network. You get a character counter with each network’s limits, bold and italic, and warnings when something is not going to work (for example, a formatted hashtag stops being clickable).
  4. Preview. How the post will look on each network, with the real name and photo of the connected account. Here are also the options specific to each network: first comment, alt text, Instagram collaborators, TikTok music and LinkedIn mentions.
  5. Schedule. Choose the networks, the date and the time, and schedule. You can also publish now or send it back to draft.

With “Duplicate post” you create a copy to reuse a piece that worked or to repeat it on another network.

Working with the client or the team

  • Comments. Each proposal has a comment thread. Mention someone with @ and they will get an email with the link. Writing comments is part of the Star plan.
  • Responsible. Assign the proposal to the person who has to close it.
  • Change history. At the bottom of the proposal you see the last change; when you expand it, everything that has been edited, with the before and the after, who did it and when. If it was an agent, its name and that of its person appear.
  • Access levels. Who can comment, edit or publish depends on their level in the company; the guide to collaborators explains it.

Statuses of a proposal

Status Meaning
In progress This is how ōrbita’s monthly proposals arrive: with a date and time, waiting for you to review and schedule them.
Draft A proposal created by hand with no date, or a scheduled one you have sent back to draft. It lives in the Drafts view of the calendar.
Pending A proposal created by hand with a date, not worked on yet.
Approved Someone with permission has given the go-ahead. It is not scheduled yet.
Scheduled It has a date and networks. It will go out at the indicated time.
Reminder sent Scheduled and with the “goes out soon” reminder already sent.
Published At least one network has published it. What has been published is no longer edited.
Error A network has rejected it. In “Status by network” you see the reason and can retry.
Discarded You have withdrawn it.

The status of the proposal is one; each network also has its own status (queued, publishing, published, failed, cancelled) in the Status by network block.

If a network fails, “Retry now”, “Cancel” or “Mark as published” (when you have published it by hand) are in the Status by network block of the proposal. You get an email if a post fails.

What ōrbita does and does not do

ōrbita does not generate images or video: what it does do is write texts, scripts and prompts, from the company’s real data, for you to use in your preferred image generator. You provide the material, from your computer, your phone, Canva or your Google Drive. And nothing is published unless someone with permission schedules it.
