Metrics reports with your agent: create, save and share them

In Metrics, "Generate report" leaves a task for your agent. It reads the figures from your networks, your website and your Google listing, writes the report and saves it in ōrbita, in Metrics, Reports, with a link. You decide whether to share it with a public page and you can stop sharing it whenever you want. On the last day of each month ōrbita also leaves the monthly report task. Included in Satellite, Star and Galaxy.

How it works

The report is not a PDF that ōrbita generates: your own agent writes it (Claude or ChatGPT, connected with the ōrbita connector) with your real data, and ōrbita saves it. Three steps:

  1. In Metrics (Spanish), press Generate report. ōrbita creates the task “Generate metrics report” (in Spanish in the app, “Generar informe de métricas”), with the instructions for your agent, for the last 30 days against the previous 30, whatever tab or period you have on screen. You can also copy the prompt and ask your agent directly.
  2. Ask your agent to do it, for example: “Do my pending ōrbita tasks”. The instructions are in English and you do not need to read them.
  3. Your agent reads the data, writes the report, saves it in ōrbita and gives you the link.

If you do not have an agent connected yet, the same button leaves you two tasks: connect your agent and generate the report.

What your agent does

Before starting it asks you whether there is anything specific you want it to look at besides the report, and adds it as its own section. Then it reads from ōrbita the company’s data, the Brand Kit and the strategy, the figures from your networks, your website and your Google listing for the two periods, the searches that bring you visits, your inbox and your Google reviews, your FAQ, your catalogue and the previous report if there is one. If a figure or a source is missing, it says so in the report and carries on: it never estimates a figure.

The report has a summary at the top, each area separately (networks, website and Google listing) with how each figure moved and why, the topics that bring people or that your audience talks about, the follow-up of the previous report’s recommendations and three concrete recommendations. It is designed to be shown outside the company: no full names or contact details of customers, and with reviews quoted briefly.

When it finishes it proposes a work plan as tasks for your agent, due on Friday at 18:00 in the company’s time zone, shows you the full list and creates only the ones you say.

Where it is saved: Metrics, Reports

Saved reports are in Metrics > Reports. Each row says the period it covers, whether it is Private or Shared and who saved it and when. When you open it you see the report with its figures and charts, compared with the previous period.

  • Private is the normal state: only people with access to the company in ōrbita see it.
  • If a figure or a chart cannot be drawn because your agent wrote it with an error, ōrbita warns you on the spot. Ask it to save the report again; in the shared link that part does not appear. When saving, ōrbita rejects a report with errors of this kind so that your agent fixes it first.
  • Delete report removes it from ōrbita; if it was shared, the link stops working, and your agent will no longer be able to compare it with the next report.

Inside the report, Share link > Create link:

  • The person who receives it sees it without an ōrbita account, with the logo, colours and font of your Brand Kit and “Prepared with ōrbita” at the foot. The page is not indexed by search engines.
  • Want it as a PDF? Open the page and press Save as PDF.
  • Stop sharing cuts access immediately: the link stops working for whoever has it. If you share it again, it will have a new link.

Sharing, stopping sharing and deleting a report can be done by whoever has Editor level or higher, or the person whose agent saved it. Your agent never shares: the public link is for you to decide.

The monthly task

On the last day of each month (at 07:00 UTC), ōrbita leaves in Tasks the task “Generate metrics report” for that month (from day 1 to the last). Rules:

  • It is created for companies with onboarding finished, with a plan that includes reports and with some network or Search Console connected.
  • It is assigned to the owner of the company. If the owner has an agent connected, it stays as a task for their agent.
  • It is a task created by ōrbita, so it sends no alert to the owner: you will see it in Tasks.
  • Only one is created per company and month.

To do it, just tell your agent: “Do my pending ōrbita tasks”.

The permission “Save metrics reports in ōrbita”

To save the report, your agent’s connection needs the optional permission “Save metrics reports in ōrbita”. It is a box on the permissions screen when connecting, and it comes ticked.

If it is missing (for example, you connected your agent before it existed), your agent tells you. Go to Connections > Connected AIs, find that connection, under “Permissions it does not have” press Give permission on “Can save metrics reports in ōrbita” and confirm. Connecting your agent again does not fix it: if the connection already existed, ōrbita does not ask again and keeps the permissions it had.

If your agent says the tool to save reports does not exist, it is still using the tool list from when you connected it. In Claude, disconnect ōrbita in its Connectors and connect it again: the permissions you gave are kept. In ChatGPT, remove the connector and create it again (the procedure is in the connector guide). Then ask it for the report again in a new chat.

Who it is for

Included in the Satellite, Star and Galaxy plans. The extended Google metrics (listing, website) that the report uses follow the same day limits as the rest of Metrics in each plan: in Satellite, the last 30 days. The report gathers whatever you have connected: without Search Console, for example, there will be no website section.
