Brand voice

Updated Author: Mónica Lorenzo

Brand voice is the consistent way a brand speaks: its personality traits, the vocabulary it uses, how it addresses its audience and what it avoids. You define it in writing so any person or tool writes the same way.

How you define it

  • Traits: three or four adjectives with nuance (“friendly but not chummy”).
  • Example phrases: short texts that sound like the brand.
  • What to avoid: forbidden words, filler phrases and registers.
  • Form of address: informal or formal, and the level of formality.

Brand voice and AI

AI content made without judgment sounds the same for every brand. Brand voice is what corrects that: ōrbita includes it in the communication strategy and writes every proposal following it. If something sounds like a template, fine-tune the brand voice before rewriting posts one by one.

Also known as: tone of voice, brand tone, verbal identity.
