Social proof

Updated Author: Mónica Lorenzo

Social proof is evidence that other people already trust a company: testimonials, reviews, customer figures or recognitions. It lowers the perceived risk for someone who does not know the company yet, and it is one of the arguments that converts the most on social media.

Types

  • Testimonial: an opinion with a name on it.
  • Figure: “over 300 projects”, “12 years”, “4.8 out of 5 on Google”.
  • Recognition: awards, certifications, media that have talked about the company.

How to use it without making it up

Social proof only works if it is real and verifiable; a made-up one destroys the trust it was meant to build. In ōrbita the proof is stored in each company’s Social proof section, and only the items marked “use in content” can appear in proposals. ōrbita never makes one up.

Also known as: testimonials, customer reviews, social validation.
