Shorts

Updated Author: Mónica Lorenzo

Shorts are YouTube’s short, vertical video format, designed to be watched full screen and from one video to the next, as on TikTok or Instagram Reels. They live on the same channel as regular videos, but they show up in their own tab and their own feed.

How YouTube decides whether a video is a Short

You do not need to mark it or write #Shorts in the title or the description: YouTube classifies the video automatically by its format, depending on whether it is vertical or square and how long it is.

In ōrbita

When you schedule a video from ōrbita, YouTube decides whether it is published as a Short, depending on whether it is vertical or square and runs 3 minutes or less; ōrbita adds no marker to force it. Details in the YouTube guide.

Also known as: YouTube Shorts, short YouTube videos.
