SWOT analysis

Updated Author: Mónica Lorenzo

A SWOT analysis sorts into four quadrants a company’s internal strengths and weaknesses and the opportunities and threats of its environment, so you can decide what to communicate and what to fix. In Spanish it is called DAFO (or FODA in Latin America).

What it is for in communication

  • Strengths are the arguments your content repeats.
  • Opportunities point to topics and moments to take advantage of.
  • Weaknesses warn you about what you should not promise.
  • Threats help you anticipate objections and stand out from the competition.

ōrbita writes the SWOT as part of each company’s communication strategy and leaves it editable.

Also known as: SWOT, DAFO, FODA.
